There has been many controversy regarding is golf a game for gentlemen or the women. However, it did start off as a gentlemen game. Later, women also proved that this game could also go in their way. Female golfers of USA have proven that women can also get achievements that will surely stun the world.

Mickey Wright, a female golfer in US who has second most LPGA victories in the history of LPGA. Her 82 LPGA victories made get stay at the second position in this history. She engaged herself in LPGA career in the year 1955. Ever since then her career nothing but amazing. Most amazing part of her career is when she won all 13 majors in 8 year time period.

Babe Didrikson Zaharias
Have you ever seen the greatest golfers of all time, but also one of the greatest athletes of all time? If not, then Babe is the perfect example of it. In 1932, she won two gold medals in the track and field in the Olympics. She achieved this success even before she began her career at LPGA.
Zaharias completed the Grand Slam of the three women’s major of the day: the U.S Open, the Title Holder Championship, and the Women’s Western Open. With all these achievements in her bag, she made 1950 the best year of her career. Not to mention the fact that she was the leader of the money list of that year with all these 3 achievements. She wasn’t done creating amazing achievements as she achieved 10 wins in golf faster than any other LPGA golfer in that year. Zaharias completed those wins in a year and 20 days. This record still stands.

Kathy Whitworth
Meet the U.S team captain who led the inaugural Solheim Cup match in the 1990. She created history which no other players could ever achieve with the most number of LPGA victories, which is 88. She crossed San Snead’s record of 82 with her 88, six more wins than San on the PGA Tour. Kathy became the first golfer to reach an earnings of $1 million mark in 1981. This created a new history for her in the LPGA history. Kathy is one of only four LPGA players who won the St. Petersburg Open five times. Her number of victories and the captaincy has made her who she is and set the standards for records.

Nancy Lopez
Nancy started her first season on LPGA in 1978. She won 9 times that season including a major as a rookie. Not only that, she also got the awards for Rookie of the year as well as Player of the Year in 1978. There were pauses in her career when she was blessed with 3 children. Even so, she managed to snatch victories during her comebacks. She proved that no obstacles would get in between her and victory. Her hard work paid off when she became the only woman to receive the LPGA Rookie of the year, Vare Trophy and the Player of the Year award, all three in the same year, 1978.

JoAnne Carner
JoAnne Carner won 3 different USGA championship events which makes her the only women to do so. The events that she won are the U.S. Girl’s Junior, U.S. Women’s Amateur, and the U.S. Women’s Open titles. The only other person to win the similar 3 events is Tiger Woods in the men’s golf. Others to win 3 different events are Carol Semple Thompson, Arnold Palmer, and Jack Nicklaus in the year 1971. She made her Women’s U.S. Open win so easy, finishing the game seven shots less than Kath Withworth who came in second in the year 1971. Carner also made a record of being the oldest player to make an appearance in the LPGA Tour at the age of 65.

Karrie Webb
She made a total of 41 LPGA victories in her career. That is the most of any active player who participated on the Tour. Webb created history for herself when she won her first tournament in her second match in the LPGA start. That was a booster for her making her climb higher on the ladder of success. On that very season Webb also achieved another milestone as she became the first LPGA player who reached the $1 million in a single season, landing her to the top of the table of the year-end money list. More achievements added to her list when she won the Rookie of the Year in 1996 LPGA. Her last victory came in the year 2014 as she won the JTBC Founders Cup.

Betsy started her golfing career in 1984. In that year she got three wins leading her to a very good and positive start towards her career. She managed to win at least one LPGA event for 11 seasons straight. The most focusing time of her career was in 1989 when she won six times. Betsy had an average of a major win a year from 1987 to 1992. Her sixth major victory came around 1997. She finished her career with wins in 2001. That was the year she got the last of her 34 LPGA victories of her career. She had a very good and satisfying career.

Pat Bradley
Bradly also had a very amazing career as a golfer. She had won multiple major LPGA’s before her nephew, Keegan, conquered the PGA Championship in 2011. Not only that Bradley also became the third female golfer who completed the LPGA “Career Grand Slam” after Mickey Wright and Louise Suggs. Nabisco Dinah Shore, du Maurier Classic and LPGA Championship are the three out of four majors that Pat Bradley added to her achievement list in the year 1986. Her achievements inspired a lot of females around the world to continue career at golf.

Patty Berg
Patty has a reputation at golf for many things. For starters, she is a founding member of LPGA. Not only that, Patty also happened to be a record holder. She holds record for winning the most majors in the women’s golf game. Her record winning number is 15. 1940 was the year she turned into a pro female golfer from an amateur as she won 29 times being an amateur.
Her winning did not stop there as she also won the inaugural U.S Women’s Open. This victory of her came in the year 1946. Most amazing thing about her victories is that three of her career’s major victories in golf came to her in her amateur days. Another interesting fact about her is that she also volunteered for the US Marine Corps. In the year 1942, she was commissioned as a second lieutenant. She served the Marine for 3 years from 1942 to 1945.

Sheehan’s amazing career as a female golfer started with an award of Rookie of the Year in 1981. She grabbed the spotlight on the golf course during the year 1992. She won three in 1980s, two in the year 1990s and finished with two more in the 2000s. She served as a caption in the US Solheim Cup for the third time in 2019. In the year 1980, Amy wont four times, achieved second place 5 times and was also in the top 10 for 21 out of 28 tournaments she played. She won the LPGA Vare Trophy with the lowest scoring average.

Beth happens to be a member of the World Golf Hall of Fame. In her career at golf, she won 33 times that includes one major in 1990 which was the Women’s PGA Championship. She enjoyed her career as an amateur by being successful at it. She turned to a pro in the 1978. Her achievements as an amateur was when she won the US Women’s Amateur two times in 1975 and 1977. She became the oldest winner at the age of 46 when she won the 2003 Canadian Open.

Meg Mallon
